Headed back to Alaska on July 4th!
yayyyyy!
all packed an ready to go!

I finally received my travel laptop back in time to install
my photo programs and other things.
Glad the motherboard crapped out when it did or I'd be hauling
a dead laptop around Alaska!

If you look to the right on this page you will see a new photo titled
Alaska Adventures 2011
click on this photo and it will take you to my smugmug folder
which will contain the photos I take during
my 3 weeks of escapades around Alaska!

Spring has sprung in Alaska
Ed Nephler, a fabulous photographer I know,
has been feeding my need to see Alaska's beauty
through his photographs.
Check out his blog sometime

Alaska is in his heart and soul and one day will return.
I only hope my photo's one day will be a great as his are.

that drove to Alaska with me in 1982!
He stayed, I drove home!
Great time fishing out of Whiskey Creek last year with him and
family.

 Bob's fishing boat!
Rick and Bob taking care of one of our catch of the day!

check back for more postings and even if there is not a new post
click on the Alaska Adventures 2011 icon over to the right here
and check for photo's as that is where I will be putting all photo's
the good, bad and ugly until I have time to sort them

There are times when internet connection is "ify" so I can't spend time
updating the blog by the time the photo's get uploaded to my
smugmug account.
Plus I plan to be on the run much of the time as this year is such a short time
in Alaska and the plan it to visit more new places than last year!

dang I still can't get the CSS code to take for auto formatting on this blog...
well some other time.

Jumble of information in this one!

yayyyy....23 and I land in Anchorage to spend 3 weeks in Alaska
dealing with some things!!!
gonna be a fly by the seat of my pants trip, backpack and camera gear!
sure hope I get some great shots for you all!
well the other day I got my first ever look at a teeny tiny baby deer!
in the orchard culling peach trees Toby about set his ladder on
the poor little thing.
Only a couple days old by the looks.
It could barely wobble over to the next line of peach trees for safety.

Once we discovered the tiny frightened little creature we moved to the other end of the orchard in hopes it momma would come back.
just a reminder that you can click on any photo to enlarge it to see it better!

Now as I had promised more photo's from Magic Wings
these little birds run hellter skelter amoungst all the vegatation in the
the conservatory!

As I was shooting the elusive beautiful blue butterfly I had been trying to photograph with it's wings open landed on my head!
as you can see the under side of it's wings are brown and black patterned.

Finally it opens it's wings to show the beautiful blue iridescent colors of it's wings!

Must have liked me as this beautiful butterfly stayed on my head as I walked around taking photo's!

this is what the beautiful iridescent blue butterfly's under wings look like...

such a wonderful place to spend the day!

Another gorgeous blue butterfly landed on hubby

there is a beautiful small waterfall and fish pond within this complex.

between the flowers, butterfly's, birds, frogs etc it is one amazing place

hubby trying to check how the photo's were coming out and the gorgeous blue illusive butterfly lands on his hand...
hahaha we had chased for so long to capture this butterfly and suddenly
they were upon us!

the only draw back of Magic Wings was when the bus loads of school children
descended into it! Even the butterfly's became agitated.
The "flight attendants" as they are called had their hands full, stopping the rambunctious hellun's to slow down, no running, no touching the butterflies, do not squash the butterflies an so on...then there were the little buggers
who were terrified of the butterflies, screaming and crying...it was time to leave!
