well fine morn'n just FINE! grrrr...

Well now....we have been in the whirlwind mode of sorting through everything we own as to what to  keep and take with us and what to get rid of.
Hubby headed out for the weekend for a "guys weekend" at the races in N.H.
so this morn'n I tackled some items that came out of the little beverage refrig.
wouldn't ya know it....I thought the quart was old hard cider and as the refrig had been turned off for some time....I figured it might not be good so....
As I have no kitchen sink right now...by the way the cherry counters are looking fabulous...I have 2 more processes of steelwooling and varnish to do on the sink side.
Anyway I take the quart bottles into the downstairs bathroom and pop the cap....
YIKES.....it starts spraying BEER everywhere, all over me, the sink, walls, floor...
crapweasel....
so I decided it was time to update my blog and as this was going to be one of those days.
I have come to realize that everyday cannot be spent sorting thru stuff to get rid of!
It is overwhelming at times but is getting done.
So I did take a break an headed to the beach with another 'lil brother and his family for the annual Labor Day beach picnic.
Heading up I have seen these trucks along a side road many times but this time the foliage was growing over one of the trucks and I just found it beautiful.

I just love the ocean...I find that I look at familiar places differently now that we have made the decision to move to Alaska.
I find myself wondering if it will be the last time I ever see it again.
The sky and clouds were just amazing!

I really like this sign...it is the way life should be!

So my beautiful niece (who by the way is into the art world like myself! yeayy!) says "let go over on the rocks and take pictures.....
well there was a day that I could bound from rock to uneven rock like a gazelle as she did...
I wonder if I can get back that kind of assured balance if
I start doing yoga and core center exercises as I was more like a rock spider!
We did find some great stuff to photograph!

An my niece finds her first starfish ever!! yayyy!
Love crushed lobster traps! took lots of photos of this and will do some photo-art with them.
So enough of rock crawling, ocean wading we walked into the little town area.

The best salt water taffy ever! yup I bought a lb of it!
the taffy being "pulled"
off the puller waiting to be formed, cut and wrapped
Of course we can't leave Short Sands without stopping by the famous Nubble Point Lighthouse.
This seagull just had to get into the picture!

Lots of people at the lighthouse and then this fellow got out to feed the seagulls ritz crackers!

Awesome day at the beach with family! then back to other 'lil brothers house
Had to take pictures of this gorgeous flowering plant that my sister-in-law won!
with the wicker chair it just made for a great photo op!

What a nice get-away time from sorting, packing, renovations!

So many trivial doubts, the uncertainty of things.
which is what I struggle at times to realize, it is a good thing.
Life can get too settled, in a rut so to speak.
I am getting more at ease with the flexible, fluctuating plans for our lives.
Each part of the plan will fall into place eventually, just not in the order that we had planned on.
So Plan B happened first:  lake front weekend/retirement property
Plan A:  is to own property in Homer, that not only has views of snow cap mountains and ocean that hubby so wants, in a town where work is more readily available that we need for the several more years before retiring.
Plan C: eventually the big island for winter retreats! We are planning and wishing big...
This still is subject to change....as we have not explored the S.E. island areas of Alaska.
Life is good when you finally free yourself of all ties and can float free to do as you please! Ahhh such an adventure it will be!
