Hatcher's Pass and Archangel with Ed

the weather forecast was iffy for rain but Ed kept
checking the webcam for Hatcher's Pass on his computer
so we decided to go despite the clouds
glad we did!

we did how ever encounter a wee bit of hail, some rain but
overall the clouds and bit of sun made for a great day.
Ed took me to old mines, funny face rock that people climb with ropes
and gear...
it was wonderful to be with someone who knows this vast area
and his company was great...sad he has to move back to Michigan
but he will be back some day to live again in Alaska

Old gold mine...what a fabulous interesting place this is...lots 
of old equipment....Ed and I spent time trying to figure 
out where the rail tracks were laid and
how the water was run...there is an old wooden water
pipe running from the small lake above the mine

as I have hiked and walked all day with Ed Nephler
in Hatchers Pass and Archangle Valley today
I am tired! 
we went out to dinner at a brew house here in Wasilla
and I am ready for crib and teddy but I had promised some photo's
sooooo...
